CROSSCHECK BASKETBALL: Dribble Forward Pass: Pratice 5

Divide the athletes into two lines. Place one line of players on the baseline of the court (under the basket) and the other line of players midway between the baseline and half-court.

a. The baseline player dribbles three times while walking and then Bounce Passes to the first person in the midway line. After passing, the baseline player runs to the end of the midway line of players.
b. Meanwhile, the first person in the midway line catches the pass, dribbles three times while walking and then Bounce Passes to the next player in the baseline line of players, then runs to the end of the baseline line of players.
c. Players continue the drill by catching the pass, walking and dribbling three times, then passing to the first player in the other line.
d. Players that are showing success can progress from a walk and dribble to a jog or run while dribbling; but still only dribbling three times before passing.
e. You can advance the drill by progressing from a Bounce Pass to a Chest Pass. If you have enough coaches you may want to create two groups doing the drill.
